Tips for making the most out of your session

To help me tailor the session to your needs and give you the most effective feedback, it’s important to come prepared. Here’s how you can get the best results:

  • Preparation and Mindset Come with genuine curiosity about your positionality rather than seeking intellectual validation. This work requires confronting uncomfortable truths about privilege and power. Approach with humility—you’re not becoming the “perfect” ally but committing to ongoing antiracist practice.
  • During the Process Practice radical honesty about your motivations, fears, and unconscious biases. Notice when you center your own comfort or need for approval. Stay present with challenging emotions instead of rushing toward solutions. Continuously ask: “How might I perpetuate harm despite good intentions?”
  • Beyond the Sessions Recognize this as lifelong work extending far beyond these three sessions. Expect mistakes—focus on accountability and repair, not perfection. Decolonizing leadership is an ongoing journey, not a destination. Center Global Majority voices in your continued development.
  • Practical Readiness Bring specific partnership examples and power dynamics you’ve struggled to navigate. Question frameworks you’ve considered “neutral” or “best practice.” The goal is sustainable transformation, not performative change.
